The end of the year is inevitable. It is time to start thinking about what can be finished by the end of the year and what should be moved to the next one. Last month, we made a few strategic decisions – regarding our investments, my career, and our future living situation.
For the point of investment, we decided to sell one of our apartments – the one I bought before I met my wife. The decision rationale is based on getting some funds for other investments, and with the current rate of return, which is far below 2% p.a., we think it is the right time to sell. In the last couple of months, we also moved our investments from funds in the local bank into our investment portfolio in eToro. Now, we hold diversified investments of more than 50 companies/ETFs. The return is around 10% p.a., precisely our investment target. We are looking for some entrepreneurial opportunities for other investments that I will write about later.
My career is continuing as a freelance project manager. So far, I am managing one project for a top three local bank. Also, I have three more months to finish the Authentic Leader programme by Talent Work. I am broadening my leadership skills in a way I never did before, and I am looking for the long-term outcome of this program.
The last topic I have in my mind is our future living situation. As we are in the middle of our working career, we are considering living abroad for some time. As we are in the middle of our working career, we are considering trying to live abroad for some time. This could be the right experience for us. We have considered two places – one in Italy and the other in Portugal. Last year, it seemed like the latter, but now we feel fonder of Italy. We have already started taking language lessons with an excellent teacher who is bringing the culture of Italy to us. In a few weeks, we will spend a week in the lovely town of Lucca. This is the highlight of this month, and we are already looking forward to it.
